Quantum Mechanics is the study of the very small. It tells us how nature behaves in atomic scale. We know that the most fundamental laws are obtained by defining them for the most fundamental particles.

So,
Scientist, for ages have tried to define the fundamental laws governing the building blocks of Nature and integrate them to explain macroscopic phenomenons.

    Before we start with Quantum Mechanics it is crucial to understand how nature operates in a totally different way in microscopic range as compared to macroscopic scales.



For example,
    -> The phenomenon of touch is nothing but the electro-magnetic interaction between my hand and the object I am trying to touch.
    ->Another interesting property that develops as one moves from micro to macro is the property of rigidness. It is incredible to imagine that atoms which are 99% free space can produce a bulk rigid matter.

It is important to note that there is no known boundary between these two scales and its just that at a particular scale one dominates over the other.

I must say, at present, the understanding of quantum mechanics is not complete and we may gain major insights regarding it. It is not like Quantum Mechanics is wrong as it is very precise with its prediction when used as a mathematical tools, but rather, that we will get major insights about the understanding of Quantum Phenomenon.

The modern era has come a long way since the idea of Quantum mechanics. We have been very efficient in setting the rules of the game, and the predictions of Quantum Mechanics has passed all its tests. We came come so far as to apply it into our everyday science. Laser Tech, Nano Tech are all its children. The most recent application are taking place in the form of Quantum Computers that uses Qubits or Quantum Bits instead of conventional 0s and 1s to transfer information. These Quantum bits are a superposing of 0s and 1s < 0 | 1 >. The idea of Quantum Computing Stands on the principle of superposition and Quantum Entanglement.

The first touch of Quantum Mechanics came with the downfall of Classical Mechanics and the search for its remedy.The remedy for the Ultraviolet catastrophe
